Birding in Goa: 3 Nights 4 Days

Western Ghats & Backwater Species
Birding trip to Goa covering the Western Ghats endemics as well as the mangrove and marshland species.  You get 3 productive mornings to cover the the key species of the Western Ghats of Goa as well as the mangrove and estuarine habitats.  Key species include:,

Malabar Trogon; Malabar Parakeet; Malabar Pied Hornbill, Malabar Grey Hornbill, Malabar Wood-shrike, Malabar White-headed Staring, Nilgiri Flowerpecker, Flame-throated Bulbul, Crimson-backed Sunbird, Blue-eared Kingfisher, Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, Forest Wagtails, Western Crowned Warbler, Velvet-fronted Nuthatch, Sri Lanka Frogmouth; Collared Kingfisher, Osprey, Stork-billed Kingfisher, Black-capped Kingfisher, Lesser Adjutant, Greater Crested Terns and so on.

Itinerary

Day 1:
Pick up from your hotel at 5.30 am followed by drive to Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and birding around Tambdi Surla area.  Arrive at  Back Woods Camp and check in post morning session.

Post Lunch trail in Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary near Back Woods Camp that will continue till late evening.

Day 2:
Morning birding session at Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary. Return for Lunch to Back Woods Camp. Post Lunch proceed to Tambdi Surla area of Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day 3:
Morning birding session at Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary around  Back Woods Camp. Check out post breakfast.

About “Weekend Birding” Event
 
Through the Weekend Birding Campaign, We hope to:

  • Create Awareness 
  • Create awareness on the sources of help
  • Train groups of people on understanding 
  • Promote efforts to 
  • Understand the psychological needs of the community and try to bridge the gap
  • Develop a network of partners within the community
  • Observe World Preservation  Day 

The campaign will be conducted between the 10th     10th of October with assistance from concerned citizens of Bardez.  Many programs have been chalked out like walks, cycle rally, talks and workshops.
